The best simple brownies PERIOD.
1 Prep
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup cocoa powder, sifted if lumpy
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar, sifted if lumpy
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 3/4 teaspoons sea salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup canola oil or extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 Mix
First, mix the sugar, flour, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and salt in a medium bowl and whisk together the eggs, olive oil, and water in a large bowl.
3 Merge
Next, combine the wet and dry ingredients, sprinkling the dry mix over the wet mix and folding until homogenized.
4 Pour
Then, pour the batter into an 8 x 8 baking pan with parchment paper and spread it to all four sides of the pan using a rubber spatula.
5 Bake
Finally, transfer the pan into a pre-heated 325° oven and bake for 40 - 45 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out with few crumbs clinging to it. Allow brownies to cool.
